Title: Partnership for Well-Being and Health of Individuals and Environment as Seen Through the Eyes of a Psychosynthesis Practitioner (Psychology with a Soul).

Keynote Speaker

Dr. Ewa Danuta Bialek

Institute of Psychosynthesis, Poland

Abstract

We live in an extremely complex global situation, caused by an epidemic that has been crawling for a year now. It threatens life and its quality, especially the life of an individual on the planet and their relationships with other people and the world at large.

Working with psychosynthesis over 20 years I found that spiritual development is extremely important. It returns through the epochs in all spheres of life, including upbringing, education, social life, medical treatment, and above all building strategies for overcoming crises into which the world is plunging and creating a “new civilization” where care, cooperation, community, love, sharing… will become life priorities for all.

The project which I am presenting here aims to create an integrated system for well-being/health and a healthy lifestyle to meet the most urgent needs of people and protect the environment. It aims also to develop a network of interconnected initiatives supporting each other. The project is based on three pillars: education, communication, and technologies. It is a comprehensive programme that focuses on health (not disease) and aims to help counsellors understand health on numerous levels (physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual, as well as individual, family, social and environmental).

The project is based on an author’s program of raising awareness and supplementing knowledge, as well as practical experience in the field of well-being and health by expanding the existing, only physical, perception of health. It also allows searching new paths, which integrate various approaches to wellness, different age groups, and different methods and technologies to support health.

It is a specific, broad vision of creating an integrated educational system at different levels (lifelong learning) and combining methodologies and educational levels (e.g. education of parents, teachers, children, and university students, also partners - innovators) in a system of common, supplementary lifelong learning. It is supposed to promote health – by developing the Network of Health Promoting Centres (Exemplary Centres) – and technologies supporting wellness and health. The project is supposed to lead to renewal and regeneration of systems (educational, health, and social) to reverse the effects of personal separation, but also more wider problems like climate change on future generations, to take the responsibility for oneself and one’s own actions, and for the environment.

The idea of an integrated system can also be implemented to create a broad vision of the entire Health Support System (now called Healthcare, the system that serves diseases, not health) and not only the treatment of diseases, starting with education so that no therapy is needed. And if therapy is needed, it also integrates education, many methods (conventional and complementary) and technologies to restore health in all areas: physical, emotional mental and spiritual, including social.

The aim of the presentation on # EPMC2021 is to attract partners for joined development of the project.

Biography

Ewa Danuta Bialek Ph.D As an immunologist (doctoral dissertation, 1980), and a specialist in clinical diagnostics, she became a long-time researcher at the Academy of Medicine and Postgraduate Medical School in Warsaw, Poland (1969-1992). She completed postgraduate studies in psychology (Summit University, USA 1995) and a number of courses in Psychosynthesis and many more. For years, she looked for solution for her health problems caused by traumatic childhood experiences (her father was a political prisoner in Poland under communist regime). Many years later they created the symptoms of diseases caused by stress. Contact with psychosynthesis almost 25 years ago enabled her to reach the grounds of her health problems, to decode them and to start recovery. The outcome of this deep inner work was creation of many programs of disease prevention - "health education" and "self-education" - so that there is no need of therapy. Another effect is her exceptional creativity, which led her to write 52 books and over 100 articles.
In 1997 she founded Association “Education for the Future” and in 2004 – the Institute of Psychosynthesis in Warsaw, Poland. Bialek is passionate about well-being education, creating systemic solutions for as well raising children, health education as well-being in many aspects of adult life. She described its practical execution, such as running of her original programs, highly rated by students, as individuals which she consulted, both in her manuals and books. http://www.psychosynteza.pl ewa.bialek@psychosynteza.pl

Title: Clinical and Emotional Aromatherapy: an integraded support for emotional and behavioral problems.

Keynote Speaker

Dr. Steve John Chiola

Naturopathic Physician – Clinical Aromatherapy Specialist, Switzerland

Abstract

‘Aromatherapy' is one of the most actively growing forms of complementary and integrated medicine; aromatherapy encourages the healing and homeostatic process largely through the modulation of different “emotional centers” by accessing the limbic system and not only and therefore bringing relief for emotional stress.
Stress is also a major problem in hospitals, hospices and homes for the aged and physically or mentally-challenged. Aromatherapy is welcomed by nurses who want to be closer to their patient and doctors who can refer patients with stress-related disorders who can benefit from the use of Essential Oils.
Used professionally and safely, Aromatherapy can be of great benefit as an adjunct to conventional medicine or used simply as a standalone treatment.

Title: The Case Against Mandatory Vaccination from a Legal Perspective

Sheldon Karasik

Principal of Sheldon Karasik, P.C. law firm, United States

Abstract

As alternative medicine grew in popularity in the West, homeopathy in particular, found itself subjected to attack both by conventional medicine, Big Pharma and government, all three often working hand in hand. In Western Europe, the process usually entailed investigations by the national science academies followed by foregone conclusions that any success engendered by alternative medicine was simply the placebo effect. Those conclusions then led to governmental attempts to marginalize the practice. In the case of homeopathy, it involved efforts to limit access to homeopathic remedies on the basis that efficacy was not established to the satisfaction of conventional medicine.
In the U.S., as we await final guidance from the FDA on “Drug Products Labelled as Homeopathic”, homeopathy continues to face a hydra-headed regulatory assault by both the FDA and the FTC, something likely to get even worse given the Biden Administration’s obsession with federal governmental control over the citizenry.  How can homeopathic organizations fight back? How can they organize? Should they attempt to launch a concerted transnational effort to prove their case? Should WHO or other international agencies be involved?
These are all questions that become more urgent as governments arrogate to themselves decisions about what is best for a person’s health and zealously sweep aside personal choice over one’s most intimate decisions.

Title: YNSA permanent acupuncture application for post-stroke syndrome

Keynote Speaker

Prof. Dr. Hegyi Gabriella

Professor & Head of CAM Division, Health Science Dept., Pecs University, Pecs, Hungary

Abstract

Objectives: The aim of our newer study involving more numbers of patient was to investigate whether permanent acupuncture, especially Yamamoto’s New Scalp Acupuncture (YNSA), and is of value in additional to standard post-stroke motor rehabilitation elevating QoL of patients with higher self-management.

Design: A prospective, assessor-blinded randomized control trial was carried out in an outpatient stroke rehabilitation unit with day hospital service again enrolled 520 cases. After inclusion, patients were stratified into control group and acupuncture group, randomly. All of stratified patients participated in gymnastic exercises and conservative pharmacological treatment according western rehabilitation protocol.

Outcome measures: The Barthel Index, the Rivermead Scale Index, the SP-36 questionnaire and the Visual Analogue Scale were used to follow the efficacy of treatment.

Results: In the acupuncture group, all the sensory, motor, and functional scores improved significantly during the examination period until 3 years after injury. The Barthel Index is increased from 4±2 to 95±4 in the acupuncture group. This index also increased in the control group (from 4±2 to 75±4), but the changes were significantly less than in the acupuncture group. A significant spontaneous recovery during the 3-year follow-up was found, but the YNSA treatment facilitated the functional recovery not only in moving but generally in cognitive functions and memory. Improved moving function and more flexible joints and ligaments were observed in comparison to the patients’ condition prior to treatment.

Conclusions: The data suggest that the YNSA acupuncture is a useful complementer method to treat residual symptomes of stroke patients and enhance their quality of life, to achieve higher self-management level. As soon as possible after stroke this method should be started if cardio-pulmonal condition of patient is balanced and allowed it. This study was a reproduction of our earlier research with more participants to allowed us to prove advantages of early application of permanent acupuncture treatment.

Title: Mitochondria-active cells and immune systems

Keynote Speaker

Prof. Shozo Yanagida

Osaka University, Japan

Abstract

Japan National Cancer Center Research Institute (NCCRI) defines the cause of adult disease represented by cancer as a result of cell aging and genome mutations from infection. In addition, cure of disease has been discussed with an integration of immune cells that recognize and kill abnormal cells such as pathogens and cancer cells. However, we propose that the disease begins with the decomposition of the lipid bilayer of mitochondrial (mt), which is the only energy source in cells. That is, the lipid bilayer film of mt accumulates hydrogen peroxide (HOOH) with age. Mitochondria (mt) generates oxygen anion radicals constantly from oxygen and glucose, by-producing HOOH. When HOOH is reduced by oxygen anion radicals, hydroxyl radicals is by-produced. The HOOH molecules swells mitochondrial lipid bilayers and the hydroxyl radical destroy mitochondrial lipid bilayers, leading to destruction of lipid bilayer membranes of cells with the mts, resulting in poor cell metabolic function and disease. We Japanese have a proverb; "医食同源,Essence of health is in nutrition food". This is a way of preventing illness by taking a well-balanced meal with antioxidative property. The well-balanced food that brings out the mitochondria-active cells is a marine food containing iodine, which constitutes the immune system with the best mitochondrial antioxidant. Nourishing capsule food "Iodine Omega 3", which is composed of the iodine-containing M3 kelp and cod oil of omega 3 oil, delays aging and prevents all disease. Dr. Nell Smircina

Title: Visible on the World Health Stage: Traditional Medicine Inclusion by IDC-11 Double Coding is on the Horizon

Dr. Nell Smircina

PIQUE Health, United States

Abstract

According to a survey done by WHO, the most commonly used type of traditional medicine is acupuncture. This, among other factors has led to a groundbreaking update to the next set of ICD codes, ICD-11. ICD-11 will include not only the typical western medicine diagnostic codes, but also traditional medicine disorders and patterns to “double code”. Although countries utilize ICD codes differently, this goal of collective data worldwide will continue to become more ingrained in each country’s healthcare system. Having codes to identify diagnosis specific to traditional medicine will foster more effective communication between disciplines and a greater understanding of traditional medicine.

Title: The physiological conductor hypothesis: The intersection of homeopathy, psychoanalysis and affective neuroscience

László V. Szabó

Hungarian Integrative Homeopathic Association, Hungary

Abstract

According to Hahnemann, the spiritual vital force that animates and dominates the material body without limit, ensures the admirable, harmonious, vital functioning of all parts of the organism, both in terms of perception and vital functions.

According to Groddeck, the It which covers the whole of human existence shapes man's nose and hands as well as his thoughts and emotions.  It can express itself in inflammation of the lungs or cancer, as well as in compression neurosis or hysteria.

According to Damasio, the human self is a dynamic combination of a regulating automation and regulatory process and a self-reflective, conscious subject. In another context: the functioning of homeostatic regulation is essentially non-conscious. It does, however, require the presence of a conductor, very early in the process of both phylogenesis and ontogenesis.

In this lecture, the parallels between these three theories will be discussed. These parallels will allow us to propose two interrelated hypotheses for the two basic concepts of homeopathy, the concept of vital force and the possible operation of the like cures like principle.

Title: Adrenals; The Impact of Stress on Brain Health

Francisca Ferreira

Bloom Holistic Wellness Coach, United States

Abstract

The brain is part of the body’s stress response. It’s designed to respond to stress and protect you. When the body detects stress it sends a sign to a part of the brain called the amygdala. Theamygdala then sends a sign to the hypothalamus ,which activates the hypothalamic-pituitaryadrenal axis or HPA axis.

Stress is inevitable. It’s impossible to get through life without it. But, stress doesn’t have to meanstruggle. There are many ways to manage your stress so that it doesn’t have an overwhelmingimpact on your hormonal health.

Chronic stress, or a constant stress experienced over a prolonged period of time, can contributeto long-term problems for heart and blood vessels. The consistent and ongoing increase in heartrate, and the elevated levels of stress hormones and of blood pressure, can take a toll on the body.

Ongoing chronic stress, however, can cause or exacerbate many serious health problems, including: Mental health problems, such as depression, anxiety, and personality disorders.Cardiovascular disease, including heart disease, high blood pressure, abnormal heart rhythms, heart attacks, and stroke.

Not all stressors are within your control, but some are. Take control over the things you canchange and are causing you stress.

Doña Fran Wolf

Title: Energy --> Vibration --> Resonance

Keynote Speaker

Doña Fran Wolf

Ayllusuyu, United States

Abstract

This is an experiential talk.  Through a deep meditative state, you can perceive the energetic flow.  This will help you have a better understanding of energy - vibration – resonance as much of this work, you have to do it to know it.

Before the physical manifestation of Form, there is Pure Energy. We call this The Energetic as this is the raw stuff of creation. When one can “read” the energetics, one can perceive the source of the physical manifestation. The flow of the energy is vibration. The vibrations will reflect the state of the energetic/energies. By perceiving that the vibrations are not in a synchronistic flow, the work then is to bring that flow into resonance. By sensing through subtle attributes of color, weight, texture, sound, feel and more, the flow of the vibrations are brought back together as they are meant to be, thus, bringing resonance to the energies. When resonance occurs, an intact state is created.

Title: Medical Astrology, a Holistic approach that connects Mind Body and Spirit. Prevention is cheaper than cure.

Christina Richter

AstroPlus.NZ, New Zealand

Abstract

Medical Astrology is an integrated science which will identify your body constitution, metabolism & any ailments relating to psychological, spiritual, emotional & mental disharmony. If these symptoms are left untreated, they will contribute to dis-ease or dysfunction in the body.

In this current climate of continuing chaos especially around health and traditional medical systems, more people are choosing to become informative and proactive with their own health. The family physician is no longer seen as a guru and will often be tested by their clients.

You are much more than just the date of your birth that relates to your Sun Sign. Your chart has ten planets and each planet tells a story related to your health. Three examples below;

Ascendant: this is the most critical point on your chart. This is determined by the time you were born. Your ascendant describes your typical characteristics and disposition. It also rules your first house in your chart that defines your physical body and any potential illness relating to it.

Sun: this is represented by your date of birth e.g., 11th November makes you a Scorpio. Your Sun sign determines your physical vitality and health. Also, the Sun reveals how you shine in the world and signifies father and male authority figures in your life.

Moon: this represents your soul health, emotional nature and your bodily fluids. The Moon also signifies your mother or mother figure in your life.

In her presentation, Christina will explore each of the twelve signs of the Zodiac and discuss how each sign can promote and maintain their health using holistic recommendations.

Dr. Chen situ

Title: Antibacterial propertises of botanicals and their potential as antibiotic alternatives in humans and animals

Dr. Chen situ

School of Biological Sciences, Queen’s University Belfast, United Kingdom

Abstract

The global concern about the emergence and spread of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and the lack of new antibiotics in the development pipeline over the past several decades have led to a revival of interest in the exploration and evaluation of higher plants as sources of antimicrobial agents in humans, animals and livestock food animals. In vitro and in vivo studies have been carried out to investigate antibacterial effects of medicinal plants and traditional herbs against a number of humam and zoonotic pathogens important to One Health. Antibacterial testing revealed significant inhibitory effects of medicinal plants against both G-positive and/or G-negative bacteria including reference-resistant strains and clinical isolates. Synergistic effects with therapeutic antibiotics against clinically important resistant strains suggest huge potential of phytochemicals from plants to potentiate clinical antibiotics and sensitise resistant bacteria owing to their multitarget-effect of multifarioius pharmacologically bioactive wihin plants. However, despite their long-standing traditional efficacy in humans and animals and recent laboratory functional comparison of their safety profles and multiple thearpeutic benefits compared to clinical antimicrobials, the translation of this promising concept of phytomedicine into real-life application and intervention stratagies in clinical practice remains challenging and lacks support from the pharmaceutical industry.

Biography

Trained as a medical doctor, Dr Situ obtained her PhD in Medicine from Queen’s University Belfast and is currently a full-time academic staff in the Institute for Global Food Security, School of Biological Sciences, Queen’s Univeristy Belfast. Situ’s research interests focus on control and monitoring of antibiotic use and development of plant-based natural antimicrobials which can be used to reduce and replace therapeutic antibiotics in humans and food animals, contributing the global efforts of combating antimicrobial resistance.

Title: THE REALIZATION: to the missing nurturance of spaces, we dwell in.

Ar. Mayank Barjatya

Prithwe Institute, Indi Green Trust, India

Abstract

Our bodies need physical and emotional nourishment, not once in a while but regularly. If you don’t nurture, clean and nourish your mind and body, you tend to notice changes and loss of individuality, relationships and growth. Similarly, everything that breathes and is living, possess a soul. A living soul, that resides in the physical bodies. But what if we were to believe that apart from the living, the spaces we dwell in, have their very own soul too? What is architecture, is a practice of not only building a shelter, but also a place for a soul? Or what if on building a space, the energies in the vacuum are the soul itself? And what if we nurtured our spaces and surroundings in the same way we do with ourselves?

Mayank Barjatya in this lecture will take you to the journey of Prana & Life Energies inside the built spaces, he will co-relate the Vedic Indian Science of Architecture ad Building biology which has been used by him since last 23 years of practice as tool to provide health & wellbeing in living spaces.

Biography

Bio-Architect, Building Biologist and Bio-energetics, Mayank has been practising energy architecture since 1998 all over the world. He has been a pioneer in bridging the science in building biology with Vedic Vastu Shilpa Shastra, the science of traditional Indian Architecture, Mayank during his studies on the science of buildings found that human anatomy and human energy intervention is as important as the strength of material & thus learnt energy medicine with Dr Rene Naccachian at Acmos Paris. His talk at Energy Medicine Congress Heidelburg on architecture and health has been appreciated by all. He is faculty of New Earth University & MIT. His research on Sacred geometry and Yantra, Mantra & Tantra on the Science of Jainism resulted in the best seller book " 48 Infinity Energy ". Mayank's latest works include 3rd Brain & Vastu: Bio-energetics & Environmental Aggression. Mayank has also been conferred with the Good Karma Award for Energy Architecture from the Times of India Group in the Year 2019. Mayank has been developing his own model of building biology called Naduhl. It encompasses a wide range of original work that he has developed over the years as part of research and practical implementation. Naduhl finds the perfect balance between the scientific and esoteric aspects of designing living and working spaces while focusing on their impact on human energetics.

Dr. William Clearfield

Title: Post Finasteride Syndrome

Keynote Speaker

Dr. William Clearfield

American Osteopathic Society of Rheumatic Diseases, United States

Abstract

Approved in 1992 to reduce benign prostatic hypertrophy, finasteride competitively inhibits type II and type III isozymes of 5a-reductase, resulting in reduced dihydrotestosterone (DHT).  Elevated DHT is the primary driver of testosterone-related issues in men and women. DHT causes benign prostatic hypertrophy and androgenic alopecia. (1)

A not so funny thing happened on the way to a bushy head of hair and better urinary flow, however.  Termed “Post Finasteride Syndrome (PFS),” an estimated to be 3-5 % of all finasteride users, representing nearly 400,000 patients in 2018 alone, began reporting a constellation of severe adverse effects persisting long after discontinuing finasteride use. (2)

Symptoms included sexual, “general,” and neurologic disorders.  Specifics include decreased or complete loss of sex drive, erectile dysfunction, impotence, chronic anxiety, depression, and an altered gut microbiome.  Many patients claim these symptoms are permanent.  (3)

Etiologies of PFS include changes in penile vascular architecture, interference, and reduction of the neurosteroid that influences GABA, the calming neurotransmitter production, allopregnanolone. (4-5)

We discuss finasteride in detail, the symptoms of PFS, along with recommended laboratory studies and a remedial program. (6)

Finasteride is frequently cited as a drug to avoid due to long-lasting behavioral and mood changes.  Our goal is to explore the growing controversy of PFS in depth.

Abstract

General Health Costs are spiraling in all developed and developing nations of the world.
In 2013, Germany spent almost € 315 billion on health.
This was an increase of about € 12,1 billion compared to 2012 : 3910,00 € in 2013 vs. 3770,00 € in 2012 per inhabitant.
Type 2 Diabetes, Obesity, Hyperlipidemia, Hypertension & Other “civilization” diseases are the main factors for these costs.

With over 8 million sufferers (in 2009 and growing), Diabetes Mellitus is one of the most widespread diseases in Germany.
Serious “secondary complications” and “associated diseases” / co-morbidities include heart attack, stroke, athlete’s foot etc.

Total costs € 3.817.00 includes three components: Direct - disease (), Indirect () & associated complication ()

Obesity is another new global epidemic and set to become the “number one health problem globally” by the year 2025.  In 2013 52% of all Germans were overweight, which is about 42.02 Million people!  The associated conditions include: Type 2 Diabetes, Hypertension, Vascular diseases, Stroke, Coronary heart disease, Gall stones, Cancer, Sleep Apnea Syndrome, Diseases of the joints and of the skin and more.

Clinical and practical experience is proven, that Ayurveda is able to improve the condition of both Type 2 diabetes and Obesity. Furthermore, it is able by its lifestyle guidance and preventive holistic approach, to reduce and avoid follow – up diseases and costs.

The presentation will show with facts and figures how the wisdom of Ayurveda can be followed for the New Age to prevent, manage and cure such diseases.

Figures for savings to the European and U.S. Health care costs will be presented and discussed.

Title: The health value of olive leaf extract, in the current context, from research to applications

Keynote Speaker

Dr. Ramona-Niculina Jurcău

Iuliu Hațieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Romania

Abstract

Olive leaves have long been used in Mediterranean countries such as France, Greece, Italy, Morocco, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey.

They have been used in the form of extracts, herbal teas and powders and contain several potentially bioactive compounds that can have antioxidant, anti-hypertensive, anti-atherogenic, anti-inflammatory, hypoglycemic and anxiolytic effects.

Oleuropein, a major phenolic compound, along with other important molecules in olive leaves, is responsible for the pharmacological properties. It has multiple physiological actions and produces various actions including antioxidant, immunomodulatory, antiatherosclerotic and neuropsychiatric, has anxiolytic effects on behavioral and biochemical symptoms similar to those seen in patients with PTSD, and can improve spatial learning and memory impairment.

The effects of olive leaf extract for health such as antioxidative, protection of immunity, antistress and anxiolytic protection, as well as those for improving memory and learning, are important and will be addressed in this paper.

Abstract

Medical Qi Gong is a specialty within Traditional Chinese Medicine with roots going back to the Huang Di Nei Jing. Acupuncture is actually the medical study of Qi with needles as simply a conduction tool. It is the study of Qi, the understanding of Qi, the manipulation of Qi for therapeutic purpose that is the practice of Acupuncture. Title: Clinical use of Secondary Channels in Acupuncture

Thomas Bischof

Boshen Academy. Chen Style Taijiquan and Qigong Teacher. Switzerland

Abstract

Acupuncture is a strongly growing field within the therapeutic systems. Mostly used are the twelve primary channels. The use of the secondary channels are not so well known. The reason lies not in their effectivity, but in the prioritizing of the herbal application. This happened a long time ago, probably around the Song dynasty(960-1279). There are just a few transmission left, how to use this channels. Some information can be found in the classical text of the Huang Di Nei Jing. One area the use of the secondary Channels makes sense and the western medicine has not much to offer are autoimmune diseases. My experiences show that the use of one of the secondary channels, the divergent channels may improve most of the conditions.
Divergent Channels try to shift pathogens away from the organs and moves them into a latent state, especially major joints. If Jing is declining, pathogens are being revealed.
The six divergent Channels and their confluences. Clinical diagnosis and applications.
Further studies to be done

Biography

Thomas Bischof is the owner of TCM Praxis Bischof in Walenstadt/Switzerland. He has completed his studies of Chinese Medicine in 2012 at the Chiway Acadamy Winterthur/Switzerland. In 2000 he startet learning Qigong and different styles of Taijiquan from International well known teachers. In 2008 started to teach this arts and founded Boshen Academy to coach employees how to promote resilience and positive adjustment in the face of adversity. After having studied ancient Texts in the field of Chinese Medicine, he became interested in the complete System of Acupuncture. As Acupuncture in China, became focused on the primary channels about 1000 Years ago, it is not easy to find reliable sources. Studying different Systems from Japan, Korea and France helped to get an idea how it could have worked.

Dr. Michelle Perro

Title: The Global Children’s Environmental Health Bill of Rights

Keynote Speaker

Dr. Michelle Perro

gmoscience.org, United States

Abstract

The health of our children is under assault. While many countries have diminished or eliminated threats from infectious diseases, once the most common scourge on our children’s well-being, environmental toxicants are now the main driver of chronic diseases in the young. The sources are ubiquitous exposures in children’s daily lives which include air pollution, industrialized food, contaminated water, untested electromagnetic frequencies and experimental pharmaceutical administration.
The need for protection of our most precious asset has never been clearer. With epidemic rates of autism spectrum disorder and other neurocognitive diseases, metabolic disruptions and allergic-based diseases, there is no doubt that the time is now to create a universal protection plan for our children to protect them from the onslaught of environmental toxicants’ affect on their health including the long-term negative sequelae.

Dr. Perro will review the common childhood toxic exposures, the sequelae of those exposures and a call-to-action on how we manifest excellent children’s health in the 21st century. The concept of Ecomedicine and a shift towards holistic and integrative practices including herbs, homeopathy and manipulative medicine will be addressed

Abstract

Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common musculoskeletal abnormality. In Ayurveda, it is correlated with Sandhigatavata. Many studies have been conducted for the Ayurvedic management of Sandhigatavata but only with respect to clinical feature. Not a single evidence on their efficacy in radiological findings was available. So through this paper, efforts were taken for the successful Ayurvedic management of Sandhigatavata, evidenced over radiological findings. Aim: The aim of this study was to access the efficacy of Ayurvedic management including Shodhan (purification) and Shaman Chikitsa (palliative therapy) in Sandhigatavata. Materials and Methods: It is a single case study of a 50‑year‑old male patient who was diagnosed as case of Sandhigatavata with pain, stiffness, and swelling in right knee joint, difficulty while walking since 1 month. There was a significant joint space reduction with osteophytes in X‑ray of left knee joint. He was advised for local Abhyanga (massage), Swedana (hot fomentation), Niruha Basti (enema of herbal decoction), Janudhara (oil batch at knee joint), along with Lepa (local application of medicament) and palliative treatment. Results: After 1 month, changes were observed in symptoms, and reduction was seen in gross joint space in X‑ray of right knee joint. Conclusion: Patient got satisfactory relief in clinical features as well as in maintaining joint space, no overlapping of lateral epicondyle of femur and tibia, also no osteoporotic changes were observed in X‑ray after 1 month. Abstract

There is a time when law and medicine must stand side by side to ensure that autonomy over our own bodies prevail.  Canada is facing a spiralling loss of personal rights which are leading to a culture where conforming to the one available narrative feels like the only choice. It is affecting our doctors, Naturopathic physicians as well as all licensed health professionals. We have been asked to be the banner holders and spokes people for a narrative that stands in the face of our Hippocratic Oath. Our Prime Minister is showcasing our behaviour to the World Economic Forum as compliant and complicit to the “Build Back Better” 2030 Agenda. My hope in sharing this is for everyone to notice the parallels and work together as a community to support freedom of choice in Health and informed consent.

Title: Role of Ayurveda in Epidemic diseases due to world war

Dr. Shivani Sanjeev Gavande

Abstract

Until 21st century, there are lot of inventions in every aspect of life. Greed to conquer the world has made everyone’s life miserable. The third world war is almost on the door step of the world. The only science which can protect the humanity from disasters after forth coming wars is our ancient science

Ayurveda. There are many remedial references for vitiated air, water, land and season..

. There is very good elaboration of Epidemics due to enemies in ancient Ayurvedic texts. In Charak samhita, Vimaana Sthana, sinful act leading to war is explained. Many traditions in India knowingly or unknowingly follow some rituals to detoxify. viz. spraying of turmeric as Bhandara at many temples, use of Dhol, bell, Nagara etc. by spreading medicated ash on them in turn relieves pollution. Lighting camphor during daily prayer, sacrificial fire.

Ayurved is science of life; it guides us about behavior in warfare conditions The seasonal regime and Daily routine as described in Ayurved enhances our immune system .Ayurveda has put a system to follow the rules right from awakening at Brahma -muhurta up to sleep at night. Diet, Sleep and Brahmacharya (a vow of celibacy) are the three pillars of life .In ancient text, it is clearly stated that one has to follow about the healthy and ideal behavior for long life. Dr. Shaheena Kadri

Title: The Homeopathic Knife: Efficacy of Homeopathy in Surgery

Dr. Shaheena Kadri

Dr. Batras Clinic, United Arab Emirates

Abstract

Surgery is an art of treating lesions and malformations of human body by manual operations. Surgery is one of the branches of the art of healing and with the normal trends of scientific progress surgery has also come up to the present phase of achievement along with the progress' of allied branches of medical science.

Surgery represents the tremendous technical achievements of orthodox medicine. Yet it also demonstrates the inability to cure, especially chronic diseases

Homeopathy medicines can prove very useful in surgical cases, both to avoid surgery as well as to assist speedy recovery in surgical cases.

Homoeopaths are primarily physicians and not surgeons. A magnitude of cases can be saved from surgery if intervened by homoeopathy in the initial stages and treated appropriately at the right time. However, homoeopathy is not opposed to surgery. And as rightly said surgery is neither homoeopathic nor allopathic. It is a pure and simple specialised branch of art of healing. Depending on the nature of disease and the extend of pathology, and the treatment required for the purpose any allopath as well as any homoeopath can go for surgery, if he is well conversant and skilled about the methods of the subject.

Surgery, can be essential in some situations as a means for preservation of life and a patient who refuses an operation, even when the pathology requires it, is a danger to himself and his physician.

For instance, the most urgent cases, where danger to life and imminent death do not allow time for a homeopathic remedy to act. This would include life threatening situations such as, severe injuries and accidents, congenital deformities, suffocation, asphyxiation, injury from lightning, freezing, and drowning etc.

"A homoeopathic surgeon is one who adds to his knowledge of surgery, a special knowledge of Homoeopathic therapeutics and practises his calling in conformance with that knowledge." (W.A. Dewey)

Homeopathy is a holistic healing method that treats the patient as a whole, recognizing that there is no local disease and that “no external ailment, not due to some particular outer injury can arise and maintain its place, or even grow worse, without inner cause and inner involvement of the entire organism (which is consequently ill). They could not appear at all without the consent of all the rest of the economy and without the participation of the rest of the living whole (i.e., of the vital principle pervading all the other sensing and responsive parts of the organism) … the person is inwardly ill before it and while it lasts.” Therefore, the source of complaints on the external parts, which have not been caused by any outer injury, lies in some internal malady and to pass them off as merely local ailments and to treat them exclusively or almost exclusively with local applications or other such means, as if they were wounds, is as absurd as its results are pernicious.

Operating means to remove the result of disease, whose formation should be impossible in a successful method of treatment. Homeopathy treatment serves to make surgery unnecessary by means of preventative treatment. It raises the threshold of disease susceptibility, prevents illness, clears up the cause of pathology and obviates operation – especially in chronic patients. Patients given proper homeopathic treatment need operations less frequently, because homeopathy can treat diseases in their functional stage, before irreversible organic changes have developed. Homeopathic treatment also serves to arrest supposed surgical cases and finally, if surgery is necessary, it can help in managing surgical cases with pre and post-operative homeopathic medicines.

In cases where a pathology has been formed, our duty is to pause with surgery. However, Surgery itself is never curative, only palliative, as it does not cure the underlying pathological process that caused the problem to occur. The morbid functioning which produced the ailment, remains unchanged by such removal.

There is a general belief amongst the public that surgical cases cannot be managed by homoeopathic medicines. But one should know that even when surgical procedures are adopted, adequate preparation and pre-operative and post-operative precautions taken with the help of homoeopathic medicines will avoid the unnecessary hazards of surgery and homoeopathic medicines will restore the sick to health.

Homoeopathic medicines can be applied both internally as well as externally with some accessory mechanical treatment, e.g., after the extraction of the foreign body, after the reduction of any dislocation, lacerated wounds, fractures (after correct setting of the fragments) etc.

Live cases of quick results in short term recorded, documented and shared to consolidate the efficacy of homeopathy in surgery.

Biography

Dr. Shaheena Kadri has been eminently practicing Homeopathy since the last 17 years. She has won the Best Thesis Award during her Post Graduation in Homeopathy from the Hahnemann college of Homeopathy – UK. To enhance her magnitude of holistic healing she has completed her Post graduation in psychological counselling. Title: Oncothermia: A New Paradigm and Promising Method in Cancer Therapies

Keynote Speaker

Prof. Dr. Hegyi Gabriella

Professor & Head of CAM Division, Health Science Dept., Pecs University, Pecs, Hungary

Abstract

In ”hypethermia”, the procedure of raising the temperature of a part, or the whole body, up to 42° C to kill cancer cells for a defined period of time is applied alone or as an adjunctive with various established cancer treatment modalities such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy. However, ”hyperthermia” is not generally accepted as conventional therapy due to the complications of deep heating and lack of focusing of the heat effect only for malignant tissues. The idea of oncothermia solves the selective deep action on malignant tissue on nearly cellular level. Oncothermia is highly improved, safe and effective ”hyperthermia” in clinical cancer therapy supported by in vivo, in vitro, and human research as shown in this article. Advantage of oncothermia: while the classical insufficiently, focused ”hyperthermia” has to heat up in case of the multiple lesions overlapping all the volume, which contains both normal tissues and malignant tissues; while oncothermia automatically focuses on the malignant tissues in its multiple places, without treating the healthy tissue in between. The modulated radiofrequency current (RF) flows through the malignancies only. The radiofrequency modulated current with 13,56 MHz (fractal modulated) between 2 electrodes automatically focuses through malignant tissues with lower impedance and will flow mainly in the extracellular electrolyte because the normal cells are electronically isolated by their membrane by more than one-million V/m electrical field strength. Oncothermia today has the ability to be a candidate to a widely accepted modality of the standard cancer treatment. In this article historical backround.

Title: The strategy of endometriosis treatment with TCM formula: Yu Sheng Ru Mo Si Wu Decoction, and its variations, and clinical application.

Tzeching Wang

Eastern Wellness Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, Unites States

Abstract

Endometriosis is an estrogen-dependent and inflammatory disease that affects a wide range of women. Symptoms of endometriosis include dysmenorrhea, dyspareunia, chronic pelvic pain, and infertility. It’s related to as high as 87% of women diagnosed with chronic pelvic pain. (Davila, n.d.)

Conventional treatment of endometriosis includes NSAIDs, ovarian suppression, and surgical intervention.

Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) provides a refreshed perspective of treatment in endometriosis when a patient is seeking options other than the conventional approach.

Yu Sheng Ru Mo Si Wu Decoction is formulated by Taiwanese renowned TCM doctor, Lee Zhen Yu, based on a classic formula: Si Wu Tang which consists of Dang Gui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis), Chuan Xiong (Rhizoma Chuan Xiong), Di Huang (Radix Rehmanniae), Chi Shao(Radix Paeoniae Rubra).

In TCM, gynecological diseases, including endometriosis, are usually seen as a disease of the blood. The strategy of treating any disease of the blood with TCM differentiation includes three aspects: tonifying the blood, checking the blood, and invigorating the blood.

Yu Sheng Ru Mo Si Wu Tang perfectly integrates these unique concepts in TCM and applies them in treating endometriosis. We hope to provide another strategic approach for patients and clinicians when working with endometriosis.
