Title: The role of seasoning plants for healthy nutrition

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Dr. Ladislau Rosenberg

Romanian Society for the History of Pharmacy

Abstract

Spice plants have been used for centuries to add flavor and aroma to food, and their importance in the gastronomy is evident in historical sources, such as the Ebers papyrus and the Bible. During Antiquity, ancient physicians such as Hippocrates, Galenus, and Dioscorides have documented the medicinal properties of seasoning plants, using them to treat various ailments. The active principles in seasoning plants, including essential oils, alkaloids, glycosides, tannins, mineral substances, trace elements, vitamins, bitter substances, lipids, and carbohydrates, give them their therapeutic effects. The antibacterial and antifungal properties of these active principles have been instrumental in preserving food and preventing gastrointestinal infections.

Seasoning plants also have a good carminative effect, helping to eliminate intestinal gases, stimulate appetite, and promote healthy digestion. Certain herbs, such as rosemary, mint, sage, thyme, and oregano, have a choleretic-cholagogue effect, increasing bile secretion and promoting the digestion of lipid-rich foods. Incorporating these spices into a daily diet can prevent hepato-biliary disorders.

Today, research continues to explore the therapeutic potential of these plants in the prevention and treatment of diseases, due to their numerous health benefits.

Abstract

Objective: To investigate the effect of and Acupuncture on brain plasticity and motor development in children with cerebral palsy. Investigate effect on mechanism of apoptosis of brain nerve cells, regulating the expression of neurotrophic factors, promoting the remodeling of nerve synaptic structure and motor development in young rats with cerebral palsy. Two:To evaluate the effect and mechanism of acupuncture on cerebral palsy.Three:The nerve repair effect of acupuncture on cerebral palsy. Methods:In this study, 146 cases of brain injury and 1078 cases of cerebral palsy were included by randomized controlled study with ICF Gross motor function measure ,Peabody fine motor function, Gesell, muscle tension, joint activity, activity of daily living transcranial doppler,, skull B ultrasound, Brain Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Imaging MRI,Positron Emission Tomography SPECT, Diffusion tensor tractography  evaluation method.

Results: the recovery rate of extracellular space (92.3%) was significantly higher than that of the control group (70.8%) (P <0.05), Transcranial Doppler,TCD total efficiency (79.3%) was significantly higher than that in the control group (51.8%) (P <0.05). Acupuncture to promoting the development of neurological and cognitive movement under 6 months children, effectively reduce the neurological sequelae. The total effective rate of the children with cerebral palsy was 87% in the acupuncture group, which was significantly higher than that of the control group (P <0.01). The total effective rate of Brain MRI was 59.55% in the acupuncture group and 13.25% higher than that in the control group (P <0.01). The total effective rate was 91.3% in the 1 year follow-up group, which was significantly higher than that in the control group (P <0.01). the FA value of white matter fiber bundle was significantly higher than that of acupuncture at 60 times (P <0.05). The recovery rate of ultrasonous brain injury (86.7%) in acupuncture group was significantly higher than that in control group (64.4%) (P <0.05). The recovery rate of brain SPECT in acupuncture group was 96.4%, which was significantly higher than that in the control group (P <0.01).

Conclusion:

Acupuncture rehabilitation not only promote the development of white matter and gray matter in children with cerebral palsy, but also promote the brain function of children with cerebral palsy remodeling and compensation, and promote social adaptation, language and other cognitive function development, children with cerebral palsy movement and Fine motor function development and recovery, improve the children's self-care ability

Title: Four Terrains of Meaning for Healthy Longevity: Lessons from Centenarians

PLENARY SPEAKER

Dr. Mario Martinez

Biocognitive Science Institute
United States

Abstract

Based on my work with healthy centenarians (100 years and older) worldwide, I have identified four unique perceptual modes contributing to their longevity. While lifestyle is more important than genetic endowment, I propose these four longevity factors that I isolated, are as important: how they perceive time, aging, health, and self-significance. Additionally, I will illustrate how each of the four factors has psychoneuroimmunological benefits (anti-stress and anti-inflammatory effects), and how centenarian consciousness can be learned at any age. Surprisingly, many longevity studies have not included centenarian populations in their research, and none have addressed the unique default mode network centenarians enact to perceive themselves and their environments. Additionally, longevity research seems to focus
on the pathology of aging rather than the causes of health in the process of growing older. We are currently designing a research project to correlate these four factors with biomarkers of aging.

Biography

Dr. Mario Martinez, is a US licensed clinical neuropsychologist, founder of biocognitive science, and proponent of cultural psychoneuroimmunology. He is the bestselling author of The MindBody Code and The MindBody Self. Dr. Martinez serves on the scientific advisory boards of Longevity Center (Warsaw & Germany) and Apeiron Center (US). He lectures worldwide on how the causes of health are inherited and longevity is culturally learned.
