Prof. Dr. Christoph Cremer, Kirchhoff Institute for Physics (KIP) & Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Computing (IWR), University Heidelberg/Germany. Study of Physics (University Munich, Freiburg/Germany); 1976 Ph.D. (U Freiburg); 1983 Professor for Applied Optics and Information Processing, U Heidelberg/Germany; 2013 Honorary Professor (Physics) U Mainz (JGU); Research Associate at the Max Planck Institutes for Chemistry, and for Polymer Research, Mainz. The focus of his research activities is the development of methods of super-resolving fluorescence light microscopy and their application to elucidate biological nanostructures. The contributions of his laboratory comprise achievements in Confocal Laser Scanning Fluorescence Microscopy, 4Pi-microscopy, Microaxial Tomography, Lens Free Super-Resolution, Single Molecule Localization Microscopy, as well as resolution enhancement by axially and laterally structured illumination.
